My world was turned upside down when I was 16 years old and I lost my Father to cancer. I barely remember finishing high school as our lives were devastated. From there I was an emotional mess and by the time I was 23 I was divorced and the mother of two daughters. I had no education and worked 2 or even 3 jobs just to keep a roof over our heads. There were times I had to turn to government assistance and food stamps just to feed my kids.
I freely admit that my kids didn't get the best of me growing up. They spent most of their childhood in daycare and although that's a painful thought as I look back, I also know that I did the very best I could with what I had. I didn't have a lot of belief in myself but I was committed to taking care of my Daughters no matter what and through it all , I learned just how tenacious I was. I was committed to do whatever it took.
Today, after struggling for so many years just to survive, I am in a very different space. I'm very very blessed and although I didn't come from a great place, I'm in a great place now. All that I lived through helps me to empathize, to understand where people are coming from. Because I've been poor, I know what it's like to not have and now I know what it's like to have in abundance.
At age 50 Network Marketing gave me the first chance I ever had to change the course of my future. At that time I was working 60 + hours per week, living in an apartment in central Florida and didn't have a dime in the bank. I was also not in great health. My Daughter sent me some nutritional supplements in the mail and and products made a very positive change in my health. People began to notice and I began to run my mouth and share and the next thing I know I'm signing up in Network Marketing (mostly to buy the products wholesale). I knew nothing about this industry but loved helping people so I spent 4 1/2 years playing around with it by sharing products and I was picking up a nice part time income at the same time. I never talked about the industry of network marketing as I had no belief in it or myself and didn't want the rejection. I just enjoyed the benefits of helping others with the products.
All of that changed when I attended the company's International convention. I went there to see what the people looked like who were making the "BIG MONEY". I was expecting them to be all men, college graduates and dressed in fancy 3 piece suits standing on stage sharing their success stories etc. I expected them to be everything I wasn't. Instead what I found were ordinary people just like me who had created extraordinary incomes because they chose Network Marketing as their vehicle. It was then in my mid 50's that I made the decision that my life and my future was about to change. I didn't know how I was going to do it, but I drew a line in the sand right then and there and told myself that if they could do it, I could do it and failure would not be an option. The tenacity that I had all my life was about to pay off because I realized for the very first time that I had the power to change my future and create the life I wanted. It was ON!!!!
My children didn't get the best of me when they were growing up and for that I feel badly but it is also what drives me in this business. I didn't know there were other options other that what I was doing and it is now my passion to educate others and help empower them to realize that the best way to predict their futures is to create it. Life doesn't happen by chance but rather by choice. I now live an abundant blessed life and have the privilege of being Nana to 6 amazing grandchildren and in that department I am the bomb. Even recently called "Nana of the Universe" by my Granddaughter who was one of 3 of the kids who I took to St. Croix for a week during spring break. Shortly after I took a trip to Cancun with my Daughter, business partners and friends. I am so blessed.
I went from being a dead broke over weight and overworked woman in her fifties to making millions and being featured in John Milton Foggs latest book called "The Greatest Networkers In The World". I have traveled the world as a keynote speaker to thousands, authored two books and am living a life that I never thought possible all because I made a choice to make a change.
My purpose and passion in life is to empower, coach and encourage others to put their dreams above their fears and give it all they got.
Thanks for taking your time to read my story and I wish you abundant blessings on your journey.
